Undergraduate
The department offers numerous service learning opportunities for undergraduate students. Many of these opportunities come in the form of Public History Internships. These internships give students valuable hands-on experiences in the field of public history.
Internship Opportunities
Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens
- Museum Administration Intern — will work 10-12 hours per week, for 15 weeks, totaling 150-180 hours at the end of the semester, for 3 hours credit.
- Processing/Cataloguing Intern — will work 10-12 hours per week, for 15 weeks, totaling 150-180 hours at the end of the semester, for 3 hours credit.
Florida Historical Quarterly
- The Florida Historical Quarterly seeks an energetic and enthusiastic intern with strong writing skills and an attention to detail. The intern will work 10-12 hours a week for 15 weeks (total of 150-180 hours) for 3 hour credit.

Orange County Regional History Center
- The Orange County Regional History Center is seeking an energetic, creative and organized Curriculum Assistant Coordinator Intern (10-12 hours per week, for 15 weeks, totaling 150-180 hours at the end of the semester, for 3 hours credit).
- The Orange County Regional History Center is seeking an energetic, creative and organized Collections Management Intern (Approx. 18-20 hours per week) to provide general support for the Volunteer/Intern Department.
- The Orange County Regional History Center is seeking an energetic, creative and organized Curriculum and Research Intern (10-12 hours per week, for 15 weeks, totaling 150-180 hours at the end of the semester, for 3 hours credit).

- The First Unitarian Church of Orlando is seeking an energetic, creative, and organized Collections Management Intern (10-12 hours per week for 15 weeks, totaling 150-180 hours at the end of the semester, for 3 hours credit).
The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation Museums
- The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation Museums Candidates should be of Junior/Senior or higher status with major coursework towards a degree in History and must receive educational credit. Candidates will be asked to complete an on-site interview with the Museum Director prior to the start of the internship. (10 + hours per week for 15 weeks. 150-180 hours total. 3 credit hours).

Graduate
Students in the M.A. in History - Public History track are encouraged to complete a semester internship before graduation. The intern program is designed to provide practical and hands-on experience for the student as he or she works intimately with professionals in the public history profession. As a part of the internship, students will document their experiences in a project co-directed by a UCF History faculty member and the intern's host institution.
